All Iowa Reads
Established in 2003, the purpose of All Iowa Reads is to foster a sense of unity through reading. Iowans are encouraged to come together in their communities to read and talk about a single book title in the same calendar year. All Iowa Reads consists of three programs, each with one title chosen per year: adults, teens ages 12-18, and kids ages 8-12.
Join the 2023 All Iowa Reads authors for a series of virtual visits this July! Everyone is welcome at these special, free events. At each event, the author will be joined by a moderator to discuss their books, creative process, and hear questions from attendees. Attendees will have the option to submit a question ahead of time when registering, or may include a question in the chat during the event. Reading the books in advance is encouraged, but not required. The events will NOT be recorded.

Fire Keeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley
Eighteen-year-old Daunis Fontaine has never quite fit in, both in her hometown and on the nearby Ojibwe reservation. She dreams of a fresh start at college, but when family tragedy strikes, Daunis puts her future on hold to look after her fragile mother. The only bright spot is meeting Jamie, the cute, charming new recruit on her brother Levi’s hockey team.

The Golden Hour by Niki Smith
Struggling with anxiety after witnessing a harrowing instance of gun violence, Manuel Soto copes through photography, using his cell-phone camera to find anchors that keep him grounded.
