Repurpose, reuse, recycle, upcycle - it doesn't matter how you say it, making new use of old objects is a great idea.
Want to learn how to repurpose an old book into something new. Sign up for our Repurposing Books program. This will be a two-part program. Part 1 will be Book Folding 101 where we will learn the basics. Part 2 will be Beyond Book Folding where we will turn our folded book into a personal design.
The cost for the first class will be $5 or less to cover the cost of the pattern. I purchased my patterns on Etsy and have been in contact with the Etsy artist. She is willing to work with us on a discount, but I need to know how many there will be in order for me to get the price (please call the library to sign up).
There is no cost for the second class. We will accept donations to cover the cost of craft supplies.
What to bring:
A hardcover book that is at least 21 cm tall.
* For the snowflake pattern, you need a book that has 256 leaves or 512 numbered pages.
* For the Christmas tree pattern, you need a book that has 238 leaves or 476 numbered pages.
* For the star pattern, you need a book that has 237 leaves or 474 numbered pages.
* The book can have more pages, but not less.
